We are closed eight days a year to observe the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving day, The day following Thanksgiving day, Christmas Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. day and New Years Day.

We may close due to extreme weather. Our school closing number is 286 on KYW 1060 am, or www.kyw1060.com or on their sister TV station kyw-3. We send messages to your via text or email using the remind app.  The directions to join the  messaging system are located in your welcome packet.

No child is to be brought to the school before 7:00 AM, nor picked up after 6:00 PM. If a child is left beyond our 6:00 PM closing time a baby-sitting fee of $5.00 every ten minutes will be assessed and collected by the waiting staff.

It is the philosophy of this preschool that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration and discovery. Preschool children are receptive to new information, and search for an outlet for their creativity. Our program nurtures these qualities. Our purpose is to provide an atmosphere encouraging social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development of the child as a whole.  In accordance with our philosophy and purpose, the curriculum includes sharing and conversation time; stories, songs and finger plays; creative art activities; food preparation; science and nature activities; exposure to shapes, colors, numbers and letters; and celebration of birthdays and holidays.  Our lesson plans and classroom environments align with the Early childhood Learning Standards set forth by the PA department of education from infants to Pre k.  More specific information concerning the program your child or children are involved in will be relayed as you tour our facility.

The current tuition schedule is available to you online. The fee schedule lists monthly (which incorporates a 2% discount) as well as weekly payments for full and part time students. Tuition is to be paid in advance each month, by the fifth or the first day of the week if paying each week.  Because tuition is based on a calendar year and takes into consideration the few days we are closed, there will be no credit given for the months including a scheduled holiday, an illness, or vacation beyond one week. .
The first tuition payment is due on your child/ren’s first day, as well as one week of tuition to be held as a deposit. The deposit payment will be applied to your final tuition payment. You will be given tuition information and fee agreement, which will further outline the tuition policies.

A sick child is to be kept at home. The wellness of all the children and staff at the school is jeopardized when a sick child is brought to school. It is beneficial for you to establish a back-up caregiver for the days when your child cannot attend. Many communicable diseases start with cold like symptoms. If at any time the staff feels your child is too sick to remain in the classroom, we will call you and expect you or another adult whom you designate to promptly pick your child up. We do not offer sick care. If any of the following conditions exist, you will receive a phone call from the school requesting you pick up your child immediately:
– A temperature of 101 degrees or more
– Contagious diseases, not exclusive of chicken pox, measles, mumps, roseola
– Vomiting or diarrhea
– Impetigo, lice or ringworm until treated for 24 hours
– Severe cold with fever, coughing, sneezing, runny nose.
-Any type of throat infection until treated for 24 hours.

Please keep the staff aware of any illness your child may be experiencing to enable the staff to better care for your child as well as maintain the health of the other children at the school.

Hey Diddle Diddle Day School Inc. will administer medication on an emergency basis only.
